My TA uses AI detection on every discussion post and it’s ruining the class

This came up in one of my classes and it sparked a really interesting debate. Wanted to bring it here.\n\nI have been going back and forth on this for a while. At first I had a strong opinion but after doing more research I realized things are not as clear cut as I thought.\n\nWhat I think most people miss is the practical impact on students who are just trying to learn and do well in their classes.\n\nWhat do you all think? Would love to hear different perspectives on this.

I had a completely different experience with this. For me the results were actually pretty good but I think it depends on what kind of content you are testing.

Honestly this whole situation makes me angry. Students should not have to worry about being falsely accused when they write their own work.

The fact that universities are spending thousands on these tools when the accuracy is this questionable is wild to me.
