Undetectable AI vs Walter Writes humanizer comparison
Undetectable AI and Walter Writes are the two most popular AI humanizers. I tested them head-to-head to see which one actually delivers better results.
Test Setup
Five ChatGPT-generated essays, each about 1,000 words, covering different academic subjects. I ran each through both tools and then checked with Turnitin, GPTZero, and Copyleaks.
Detection Scores (Average Across All Essays)
Walter Writes:
Turnitin: 3.8% average AI score
GPTZero: 6.2% average
Copyleaks: 4.1% average
Undetectable AI:
Turnitin: 11.4% average AI score
GPTZero: 14.8% average
Copyleaks: 12.6% average
Output Quality
Walter Writes consistently produced more natural-sounding text. The output reads like a student who writes well, with natural flow and varied sentence structure. It maintains the academic tone without sounding robotic.
Undetectable AI’s output is good but occasionally stilted. Some sentences feel over-complicated, like the tool tried too hard to vary the language and ended up with unnecessarily complex phrasing. It’s noticeable if you read carefully.
Speed and Interface
Both tools process text quickly (under 30 seconds for 1,000 words). Undetectable AI has a more polished interface with a built-in AI detection score preview. Walter Writes is simpler but gets the job done efficiently.
Pricing
Both are in a similar price range. Walter Writes offers a free trial that lets you test before committing. Undetectable AI has a pay-per-word option which is nice if you only need it occasionally.
Verdict
Walter Writes wins on detection scores and output quality. Undetectable AI is a solid alternative with a nice interface and flexible pricing. If bypassing AI detection is your goal, Walter Writes is the more reliable choice based on my testing.
That said, both tools should be used responsibly. The best approach is always to develop your own writing skills alongside whatever tools you use.

Log In to ReplyI used Undetectable for a semester before switching to Walter Writes and the quality difference in output is noticeable. WW text sounds more natural and less forced.
3.8% vs 11.4% on Turnitin is a clear win for Walter Writes. Both are under 15% but the margin gives way more confidence.
