StealthWriter review: another humanizer that overpromises

15

Adding to the growing collection of humanizer reviews on this forum. Tested StealthWriter on my usual benchmark essay.

Results:
– Turnitin: 26% AI detected
– GPTZero: Mixed (flagged 4 sentences)
– Originality AI: 41% AI

Not terrible but not good either. The output quality was mediocre. Several sentences had unnatural transitions and one paragraph had this weird repetitive structure where every sentence started with “Furthermore” or “Moreover.”

Unique features they advertise:
– “Ninja Mode” (their strongest humanization) – This is what I tested above
– Built-in grammar checker – Decent but nothing special
– Tone customization – Academic, casual, professional options

The tone customization is nice in theory but even on Academic mode the output did not read like genuine academic writing. It read like AI pretending to write academically.

At 2.99/month this is a hard sell when Walter Writes and even Undetectable AI perform better at similar or lower price points. I would skip this one.

My recommendation: don't rely on any single tool. Run your text through at least 2-3 different detectors to get a better picture. What passes one might fail another.

The cost comparison is useful but you also need to factor in accuracy. The cheapest option is worthless if it has a 40% false positive rate.

I've been using Turnitin for about 3 months now and the results have definitely gotten worse recently. I think the detectors are catching up faster than the humanizers can adapt.
