Turnitin February model update, what actually changed
A lot has changed since the last time anyone reviewed this properly so I figured it was time for a fresh look.\n\nQuick summary for those who do not want to read the whole thing – it is better than most alternatives but not perfect. There are specific situations where it shines and others where you should look elsewhere.\n\nNow for the details. I tested with 10 different text samples of varying lengths and styles.\n\nCurious to hear from both students and teachers on this one.

The false positive issue is real. I write very formally because English is my third language and I get flagged constantly.

I tried three of these tools last week and my results were pretty close to what you found. The variance between detectors is honestly absurd.
