Using Claude for research papers without getting flagged

0

Sharing my experience because I know I am not the only one dealing with this. If this happened to you please share your story too.\n\nI spent 8 hours writing my paper. Went through three drafts. Had my roommate read it. Submitted it feeling really good about it. Then I get an email saying Turnitin flagged 43% of my paper as AI generated.\n\nI have never used AI to write any of my papers. English is my second language and I think that might be part of the problem. My writing style tends to be very structured because that is how I was taught.\n\nThoughts? I know this is a controversial topic but I think we can have a productive discussion about it.

I wonder how these tools handle collaborative writing. My program has a lot of group projects and the AI detection on those must be a nightmare.

Honestly this whole situation makes me angry. Students should not have to worry about being falsely accused when they write their own work.

This is exactly right. The nuance is important.

This is exactly what I needed to read right now. Going through something similar at my school and it helps to know I am not alone.

Interesting take. I wonder if this varies by institution.
