Are Free AI Humanizers Worth It or Should You Pay?

Been seeing a lot of posts about AI humanizers lately and I have a genuine question. Is there a real difference between the free ones and paid tools or is it just marketing?

I tried a few free humanizers from random websites and the output was garbage. Like it just replaced every other word with a synonym and the essay made no sense. But I also dont want to pay 20 bucks a month for something I use maybe twice.

For context I use ChatGPT to brainstorm and outline my essays. I write the actual thing myself but sometimes my writing style apparently looks too clean and Turnitin flags portions of it. Super frustrating.

Anyone have recommendations for tools that are actually worth paying for? Or are there any free options that dont completely butcher your writing?
