best free AI detectors for self-checking your work?
This came up in one of my classes and it sparked a really interesting debate. Wanted to bring it here.\n\nHere is what prompted this post – something happened in my class this week that made me realize how big this issue has become. I am not going to share specifics to protect privacy but the general situation is probably familiar to a lot of you.\n\nI think we need to have a more honest conversation about this because the current approach is not working for anyone.\n\nLet me know if you have questions or want me to share more details about my experience.

Log In to ReplyJust went through this exact situation last month. Ended up having to do an oral defense of my paper which was actually fine because I wrote every word myself.
I had the opposite experience actually but I think context matters a lot.
This is super helpful thank you for putting this together. Saving this for when I need it during finals.
This deserves more attention. Sharing with my classmates who are all stressed about AI detection this semester.
This is exactly right. The nuance is important.
My professor actually showed us the Turnitin AI report in class and explained how it works. Made me realize how many limitations these tools have.
That is a great tip. Going to try this on my next paper.
Great post. One thing I would add is that results can vary a lot depending on the length of the text you are testing. Shorter pieces tend to be less reliable.
