Does anyone else feel like they’re falling behind already?
We’re only a few weeks in and I already feel like everyone around me has it together except me. People in my classes are answering questions confidently, some already have internship offers lined up, and I’m sitting here still trying to figure out how to manage my time.
I don’t think I’m dumb or anything, I did fine in high school. But uni is just… different. The pace is faster, nobody tells you what to study, and the workload hit me like a truck.
Is this normal? Does it get better? I keep telling myself to just get through this first semester but some days it’s really hard to stay motivated.
Any advice from people who felt the same way early on?

Log In to ReplyWhat helped me was going to the tutoring center. I thought it was only for people who were failing but it's actually just extra help for anyone. No shame in it.
The comparison trap is real especially with social media. Everyone posts their wins but nobody shares the failed midterms. Focus on your own progress.
Talk to your advisor. Seriously. Mine helped me realize I was taking too many hard classes at once and we adjusted my schedule. Made a huge difference.
I felt exactly like this my entire first semester. Turns out most people feel the same way but nobody talks about it. You're not alone in this.
