ESL students getting flagged by AI detectors at higher rates (data)
This is going to be a long post but I think it’s important for everyone here to read.
The thing that surprised me most was how different the results were compared to what I expected. I went in thinking one thing and came out with a completely different perspective. I ran my tests across multiple samples to make sure I wasn’t getting fluky results and the pattern held up consistently.
I’ve been lurking on this forum for months and finally decided to contribute because I see a lot of misinformation floating around. No shade to anyone but I think we owe it to each other to be accurate about this stuff.
TLDR at the bottom but I really recommend reading the whole thing. Happy to discuss in the comments.

Log In to ReplyGreat contribution to the community. I'll add my own test results in a follow-up post.
This confirms what I suspected but hadn't been able to prove. Thanks for doing the legwork.
Great post. One thing I'd add is that results can vary a lot depending on the type of writing. Technical papers get flagged way more than creative essays in my experience.
Couldn't agree more. This is exactly why these conversations are important.
This happened to me too and I wish I had this information at the time. Bookmarking for future reference.
Great point. I'd also add that the technology is changing so fast that policies can't keep up.
Been using Undetectable AI for a few months now and your review is the most accurate one I've read online.
