First exam week jitters – anyone else?
So exams start next week and I’m honestly kind of freaking out? Like I know I’ve studied but there’s always that doubt of ‘did I study the RIGHT stuff?’ and ‘am I going to blank out during the exam even though I know this material?’
I have 4 exams in 5 days and honestly the schedule is brutal. Two on Monday, one Wednesday, one Friday. My brain is going to be so fried by the end of it.
Does anyone have tips for staying sane during exam week? Like:
– How do you manage sleep when you’re stressed?
– What’s your pre-exam routine?
– How do you prevent burnout across multiple exams?
– Any foods/drinks that help you focus better?
I’m trying not to stress too much because stress doesn’t help performance but like… here we are lol. Appreciate any advice from people who’ve been through this before! π

Log In to ReplyOMG SOPHIA me too honestly?? like i have 5 exams next week and the anxiety is REAL like im constantly worried im gonna forget everything even tho i studied and studied and studied...
what helps me is like honestly just accepting that im nervous and thats OKAY?? like the nervousness means i care about doing well!! and then i try to channel that energy into like one more review session or explaining concepts to my roommate instead of just spiraling in anxiety.
also honestly like a good sleep schedule is SO important - i try to get at least 7 hours even when im stressed bc my brain literally cannot function on like 4 hours of sleep lmao. and like comfort food helps too?? i make myself good breakfast the day of the exam and it like makes me feel more prepared psychologically if that makes sense??
also just knowing im not alone in this and that OTHER people are going through the exact same thing helps honestly!! so like you're not crazy for being nervous, we're all nervous, and we're all gonna get through this!! ππ
Your concerns are valid and common. Here's what research suggests:
**Sleep:** This is non-negotiable. Pulling all-nighters actually impairs cognitive function. Sleep 7-8 hours minimum, even during exam week. Your brain needs rest to consolidate information.
**Pre-exam routine:** Establish consistency. I eat a solid breakfast with protein and carbs, review my summary notes (not new material), and take a 20-minute walk to clear my mind.
**Managing multiple exams:** Space your study sessions across the days. Don't cram everything the night before. Study a bit each day leading up to the exam.
**Food/hydration:** Avoid excessive caffeine (causes anxiety). Eat balanced meals. Stay hydrated. Your body needs fuel to function optimally.
**Perspective:** You've prepared. Trust your preparation. Exam anxiety is normalβit means you care about doing well. Channel that energy into focus rather than panic.
You've got this. Steady progress beats frantic cramming every time.
