Originality AI vs Turnitin: which actually catches more?
So I’ve been testing GPTZero for the past few weeks and wanted to share my findings with everyone.
I talked to a few other students about this and we all had similar experiences which makes me think this isn’t just a me problem. If you’re dealing with the same thing definitely drop a comment because I think we can help each other figure this out.
What really bugs me is that most of the information out there is either outdated or just wrong. People are making decisions based on stuff from six months ago and the landscape has changed completely since then. That’s why I wanted to put this together.
That’s all I’ve got for now but I’ll update this post if anything changes. Stay safe out there everyone.

Log In to ReplyCan you share your methodology? I want to replicate this test with my own writing samples.
Interesting results! I wonder if the accuracy changes depending on the subject matter. Has anyone tested across different disciplines?
Yeah this is a really good point. I think the lack of standardization is a huge problem.
Shared this with my study group and we all agreed this is super useful. More posts like this please!
Thanks for sharing your experience. I think more students need to hear about this.
Totally agree with you on that. I had a professor last semester who didn't even know how to interpret Turnitin reports properly.
This is exactly the kind of content this forum needs. Real data instead of speculation.
100%. I've been saying this for months and nobody listens.
