Turnitin summer update changed a LOT and students should pay attention
Been doing a deep dive into Undetectable AI and I think the community needs to see these results.
I’ve been lurking on this forum for months and finally decided to contribute because I see a lot of misinformation floating around. No shade to anyone but I think we owe it to each other to be accurate about this stuff.
I know a lot of people have strong opinions on this but I think the data speaks for itself. I tried to be as objective as possible and test everything under the same conditions. Your mileage may vary of course but these numbers are hard to argue with.
Anyway that’s my experience. Would love to hear what others think, especially if you’ve had different results. Drop a comment!

Log In to ReplyI'm a TA and I can tell you that from the instructor side, things look very different. The pressure to use these tools is real.
Yeah this is a really good point. I think the lack of standardization is a huge problem.
Great thread. Saving this for when I need to have the conversation with my professor about AI detection.
That's interesting because my school handles it completely differently.
Can confirm this matches what I've seen. My roommate got flagged for a paper she definitely wrote herself and it was a nightmare to appeal.
100%. I've been saying this for months and nobody listens.
Really appreciate the objectivity here. Too many reviews are either sponsored or have an agenda.
Just went through something similar and I wish I had found this post earlier. The appeal process is way more stressful than it needs to be.
