anyone have experience with online summer courses?
so im considering taking a summer course online instead of in person and im pretty nervous about it honestly. like will i actually be able to focus or will i just procrastinate the whole time? anyone done this before? what was it like

Log In to Replyhonestly depends on the class and the professor. i took a math course online and it was brutal because i couldn't ask questions in real time. took a writing course online and it was great because the prof gave written feedback which i actually prefer. pick based on the subject not just the format
ohhh that's a good point. the class is a writing class so maybe online would actually work well? that makes me feel better about it
pro tip - check if they have synchronous (live) or asynchronous (pre-recorded) lectures. synchronous feels more like a real class but requires you to be online at specific times. asynchronous is more flexible but requires more self-discipline. know yourself before you pick
i did an online summer course during covid times and it was ROUGH because everything was new and weird. but now that online classes are more normal they're actually pretty good? i found online classes moved faster though - like they cram more into shorter timeframes so it can be intense
i took one last summer and it was actually fine? way more flexible than in person which was nice. the key is you have to be disciplined because nobody is forcing you to show up. i set myself a schedule like i would have class and stuck to it. also the lectures are usually recorded so if you miss something you can rewatch
