Career fair prep tips?
Hey everyone! So the career fair is coming up in a few weeks and I’m honestly kinda nervous about it. I’ve been preparing my CV and doing mock interviews, but I wanted to share some tips that have really helped me feel more confident. First, research the companies ahead of time – seriously, knowing even a few key facts about what they do makes such a difference when you’re talking to recruiters. Second, practice your elevator pitch! I know it sounds cheesy but having a solid 30-second introduction really helps. Third, bring multiple copies of your CV and wear something comfortable but professional. You’ll be on your feet a lot and confidence shows when you’re not worried about your outfit. And honestly, the recruiters are usually pretty chill – they remember what it’s like to be a student looking for their first opportunity. Anyone else going? Would love to hear what companies you’re targeting!

Log In to Replynice tips hannah. btw for the ppl doing tech stuff, always ask about their tech stack and what they use for deployment. shows u actually care abt the engineering side not just the money lol
Bellissimi consigli! Io sono proprio stressata per la fiera... ho paura di non trovare le parole giuste in inglese quando parlo con i recruiter. Hannah, come hai superato l'ansia di parlare in inglese se non รจ la tua lingua madre?
Honestly, they're so used to talking with students from all over that they're super understanding! I'd say just speak slowly and clearly - recruiters care way more about what you know than perfect grammar. You've got this! ๐ช
Solid advice all around. One thing I'd add: bring a notebook. Most people don't and it shows you're actually interested when you jot down notes during conversations. Plus you'll have contact info and comments to follow up on later.
Great thread! One more thing - dress code matters. I wore a blazer last year and definitely felt more professional even though I was nervous. Also, eat breakfast before you go! Low energy will kill your confidence.
Your advice regarding elevator pitches is sound. I have prepared a structured introduction that includes my academic focus, relevant coursework, and career objectives. I recommend practicing with a timer to ensure it does not exceed thirty seconds.
Yes! That's exactly right - timing is so important. I practiced mine until I could say it naturally without sounding robotic. Good luck at the fair!
