summer internship vs research assistant: which looks better for grad school?
Just wanted to start a conversation about something that’s been on my mind lately.
After going through all of this I realized that the conventional wisdom is mostly wrong. Not completely wrong but definitely misleading in some important ways. I’ll break it down step by step so you can see what I mean.
I’ve been lurking on this forum for months and finally decided to contribute because I see a lot of misinformation floating around. No shade to anyone but I think we owe it to each other to be accurate about this stuff.

I tested this myself after reading your post and got almost identical results. Nice work.
Totally agree with you on that. I had a professor last semester who didn't even know how to interpret Turnitin reports properly.
The part about accuracy rates really resonated with me. I think that's the most overlooked aspect of this whole debate.
